Effortless Hamptons Living
Hille’s Home Extensions was engaged to undertake significant renovation and extension works on this brick veneer home. The Client’s brief was for Hille’s to provide a larger functional space for a growing family. This was realised with multi-tiered living and multiple living zones.
An external studio was replaced with an expansive lounge room which accommodates both a TV/sitting area with open fireplace and a quiet reading space set against bay windows. This extension, added to the renovated formal dining area, created a vast living zone. The original small living room at the front of the house was reformed into a study/bedroom.
The second storey was also completely transformed. The original upper floor plan was reasonably small, consisting of two bedrooms and an ensuite. Two bedrooms, a bathroom and a rumpus/retreat room were added, whilst one of the original bedrooms was removed and this space was reconstructed to provide a larger walk-in-robe and ensuite for the master bedroom.
The Client wanted a modern, Hamptons-style front exterior. This was achieved with the use of Hardies Scyon Linea weatherboards along with Colorbond Ironstone roofing.
There was a high level of detail put into the ground floor works in order to tie the pre-existing lower level in with the upper level extension. Among other elements, the existing ground floor facade was maintained but blended seamlessly with the second storey addition.
